I learned how to tattoo 12-13 years ago from Dennis DeLisle at Pass Rat Tattoo in Truro, Nova Scotia. After learning from him for 2 years I set out on my own path. While I have learned a great deal since my days apprenticing, I am always ready and willing to learn more.
I have in recent years become a wife and mom, which has taken a little bit of my attention away from the tattooing world but I would say that I am still consistent in trying to improve my technique.
I love art work and am drawing on an almost constant basis. As they say, practice makes perfect.
I practice a lot on myself and my husband now! I have a few pieces on my body now... I've lost count. My most cherished pieces being my gypsy/sugar skull,my science tattoos and my dancing Buddha. The gypsy skull was put in place by my talented "cousin" Martine Dugal! My science piece is an ongoing work that I have begun myself, the dancing Buddha is a piece that I have begun myself as well.
My favourite types of work are gray scale, but have become increasingly interested and fascinated by colour work lately. I love portrait work! To me, it is so much of a journey to start a portrait and watch it unfold as you put each paintbrush stroke or each pencil line in place.
Well, that's about as interesting as I get, so hopefully my work will speak for itself.
